Introduction:​

Let me introduce Ljos Slokvir - the Extinguisher of Light- forged in honor of the two wolves Skǫll and Hati

 - which chase the sun and moon across the sky!

 

Both sides of the blade is engraved and inlaid with 24kt gold.

The runes read as follows:

Side A:

Austr sat in aldna

í Járnviði

ok fœddi þar

Fenris kindir;

 

Side B:

verðr af þeim öllum

Modern English:

Side A:

In the east sat the old

in Ironwood

and there gave birth

to Fenris children;

 

Side B:

Just one of these

of all of them

becomes the moon-thief

in troll's guise.

 

Description - blade:

The blade is forged in two bars of 96 layers of folded and twisted railroad steel combined with 15n20 for the body of the blade, and one bar folded and twisted sawblade and 15n20 for the edge.

Hardness at edge: 58 HRC

Description - handle:

The handle wood is stabilized maple, with 925 silver and vulcanized fiber spacers. The bolster, pommel and mid-section are forged from railroad steel, engraved in a deep relief with 24k gold inlay and set with two 0.03ct diamonds, four rubies and four sapphires.

Mid-section reads:

Surname of client.. and name of the blade - Ljos Sloknir, or in English - "Extinguisher of Light". A fitting name, as these two wolves - sons of the famous wolf, who you maybe already know - Fenris; will devour the sun and moon at Ragnarok.

Description - sheath:

The sheath is in 5 layers of 2mm thick leather with a frame of hand cut and brightly polished brass tightly sew using black Tiger Thread. The nameplate carries the name of the blade and is engraved in a deep relief w. 24k gold inlay as well as two natural brilliant white 0,03ct diamonds.

The sheath frame is further set with 4 pigeon blood red rubies and 10 blue sapphires. 

​

The belt loop carries my makers mark in 24k gold inlay.
