It gives purpose, meaning and drive - and at times it also feels as if one rips one's own heart out and presents it to an indifferent world.

Description - blade:

The blade is forged in a san-mai lamination consisting of twisted 15n20 and 99% nickel for the core, laminated between two sheets of 15n20 nickel steel.

The blade is differentially hardened using clay, and consists of a hard edge and soft body and spine.

The blade is further more engraved and inlaid with 24kt gold borders engraved in a whete pattern.

 

Hardness at edge: 58 HRC

Description - handle:

The handle is full tang, laminated between two handle scales of 15n20 steel with polished brass spacers. The handle scales are engraved and inlaid with 24kt gold borders (1mm diameter) engraved in a running whete pattern, with a diamond chequered center of inlaid 940 Argentium Silver (0,5mm diameter) engraved in an opposing running whete pattern. At each intersection is set a 1mm brilliant cut, very slightly included natural white diamond, counting 15 diamonds on each side - a total of 30. The handle scales are fixed in place by 3 bronze pins, each hidden underneath a 2mm natural diamond of same color cut and clarity as the intersection ones. Three 2mm diamonds on each side, a total of 6.

Near the front of the handle is carved a deep lunette with a deep bas relief sculpture of a hand grasping a 24kt gold heart.

Both blade and handle scales are gun-blued to a deep dark black patina.
