Potentia| The Potential
Blad | Blade: 18 cm
Skaft | Handle: 13,5 cm
Vekt | Weight: 345 grams
Introduction:
The word "POTENTIA" comes from Latin, and means "potential". It originates from the verb "posse", which means "to be able to" or "to have the ability to". The background of this word can be traced back to the ancient Roman Empire, where Latin was the main language.
The meaning of "potentia " has evolved over time and has influenced many modern concepts and ideas. For example, it has given rise to the English word "potential", which refers to a hidden or possible ability that can be realized.

Potentia is an expression of how I feel the urge for growth and development. The potential is the foundation for something living that sprouts and grows, reaching for what nourishes it. The potential can be a double edged sword, or a snake. It has the potential for betrayal as
well as renewal. The potential forms the foundation for a growing sprout, a flower reaching for the light
and finally blooming!
The person we were yesterday is dead. And today we are a new person. Continuous development, whether for good or bad.
Description - blade:
The blade is forged in a three layer laminate consisting of a core of about 144 layers of folded and twisted shaft steel from the former Kongsberg Automotive (most likely intended for use in truck shafts) combined with 15n20 nickel steel for contrast, with pure 15n20 steel on
each side.

The knife blade is further engraved in a deep relief with acanthus leaves in steel and gold. In the middle of the design, my initials appear in the form of the runes KH in Elder Futhark made of 24kt gold. In the lower corner of the ricasso , there is a small 0.03ct natural white diamond hiding.. Around it, there is a small flower with gold pollen which has grown out from the center of the design.

Materials - blade:
Shaft steel from Kongsberg Automotive.
15n20 Nickel steel.
24kt gold.
2 pcs. 0.03ct natural white diamonds.

Hardness at edge: 58 HRC

Description - handle:
The handle is a complex composite of stabilized Maple, vulcanized fiber, and railroad steel from the Numedalsbanen
railway. The handle consists of two main parts in the aforementioned materials, separated by two inserts of railway steel from the sleepers (the plate between the actual railroad track and the wooden sleeper). These two main elements are further secured with 16 through going bronze pins. Between all the elements, there is an additional insert separating them from each other. Consequently, there is no direct contact between wood and metal in the handle.
A frame of railroad steel encapsulates the tang that runs through the entire handle from the ricasso to the "crown" of the piece on the rear bolster. All metal parts are engraved in a deep relief, with inlaid gold, copper, red rubies, and white diamonds.

Between the handle and the knife blade, there is a very solid and highly ornate finger guard, forged from a single piece of steel from a sleeper plate from the Numedalsbanen railway adorned with 24kt gold, copper, and red rubies..

On one side, there are two ruby flowers, with two snakes in 24kt gold coiling around the stems in inlaid copper; on the other side, there are two identical flowers but encased in steel and gold.

Around the entire crossguard , there is an engraved dragon scale pattern in 24kt gold and steel interwoven, growing out from under the name "POTENTIA". Between the crossguard and the handle, there is an insert of railroad steel, adorned with 24kt gold and 6 pieces of 0.03ct natural white diamonds.

The middle insert in the handle is forged in the same material as the front one. Railroad sleeper plate steel, also engraved in a deep relief with four snakes in 24kt gold coiling out from under a red ruby in the middle of the handle...

At the back of the handle is the "crown" of the piece. The smallest detail of the knife, but perhaps also the most intricate. This part is forged and turned from a piece of railroad steel, engraved in a deep relief and inlaid with 24kt gold and one blue sapphire.

Materials - handle:
Stabilized maple.
Vulcanized fiber.
Railway steel.
24kt gold.
6 pcs. 0.03 natural white diamonds.
8 pcs. red rubies.
1 pc. blue sapphire.

Description - sheath:
The sheath consists of a total of 9 layers of 2mm thick Schaf leather, with a front plate of 2mm thick 925 Sterling silver. The sheath is sewn with black tiger thread using saddle stitching. The two top layers of the sheath consist of a plate of 925 Sterling silver, over 2mm thick
Schaf leather, embossed with a dragon scale pattern. The leather is further colored with antique brown dye.

In the silver plate, there is an engraved pattern in deep relief that many may be familiar with from my work. This pattern has, in many ways, become a sort of hallmark recurring in my designs. Furthermore, these are adorned with 13 blue sapphires.

In the middle of the sheath is an elaborate relief of a stylized "P". This is executed in the frame's material; 925 silver and 24kt gold. Two red sapphires embellish the two flowers that spring forth from it.

The background of the relief is carved out and shaped into a series of small pyramids. The peaks are polished down, and they glitter like stars in the background of the prominent monogram of " Potentia".
